Today Overture released a patch for the March data. There was an issue with a data pipeline process that caused theme and type columns to show up in some of the Parquet files. This issue likely had minimal, if any, impact on users.

Over the past several releases, Overture has been laying the groundwork to transition our transportation theme from beta to general availability (GA). This post provides a brief roadmap of the work we’ve done to reach that goal, along with a request for our community to continue testing the data and providing valuable feedback.
The 2024-12-18.0 release of Overture data and v1.4.0 of the Overture schema are now available. This month our transportation theme is going to GA, we're launching a bathymetry feature type in our base theme, and we're at 400 million address records and counting in our addresses theme. What a way to end the year!

The 2024-11-13.0 release of Overture data and v1.3.0 of the Overture schema are now available. This release includes more than 66 unique address datasets from many new sources. We added a new postal_city column to the addresses schema to support address formatting. In the transportation schema, we dropped the unutilized lanes column in preparation for transportation's GA release in the near future.

The 2024-10-23.0 release of Overture data and v1.2.0 of the Overture schema are now available. As part of Overture's mission to improve data quality and coverage and to expand the number of sources we use to make our datasets,
we added in this release address data for several new countries, transportation data in Saudi Arabia and Italy from TomTom, and building height data from Microsoft and Esri Community Maps contributors.

This week Overture is releasing datasets that include new addresses across ten countries, new road features in Saudi Arabia and Italy from TomTom, and new building height data from Microsoft and Esri Community Maps contributors. Here's a preview of what you'll find in our October release.

The 2024-09-18.0 release of Overture data is now available. We are still on v.1.1.0 of the Overture schema, as we did not cut a new schema version with this data release. The base, buildings, divisions, and places themes are stable, which means the only changes to these themes are data improvements and bug fixes. We added new road data from TomTom, mostly in Saudi Arabia, to the transportation theme (beta). To the addresses theme (alpha) we added new data for Finland and Chile, and we replaced NAD-sourced address features in New York City with addresses from NYC Open Data.

Overture's 2024-08-20.0 data release is now available. The base, buildings, divisions, and places themes are stable, which means the only changes this month are data improvements and bug fixes. The transportation theme remains in beta and we have made several significant changes to the schema in this release. The addresses theme is in alpha.
